At Marshall Jakeman Marine, we’ve spent over a decade building, operating, and maintaining high-performance vessels in the North East of England. Our business is growing, and we’re looking for a Marine Logistics Coordinator to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with stores and component management experience who’s eager to learn the marine sector.
About the Role
The role has developed as the company has grown to the point where a dedicated person is needed to coordinate the supply of components and stores to the vessels. The chosen candidate will ideally have some experience working with engineering, mechanical, or hydraulic components and a keen interest in learning about the maritime sector. Marine experience isn’t essential—our focus is on finding someone with a basic stores/component management background who is willing to learn the marine element.
- Initially, you will spend time developing the stores setup at the head office.
- The role is generally office/shore-based but may require occasional travel to support vessels during mobilisation (overtime paid).
- Liaise with vessel masters and marine superintendents to ensure all vessels are supplied with parts and stores.
- Attend company vessels at ports around the UK/Europe to assist with technical faults or project mobilisations (once trained).
- Provide day-to-day maintenance and engineering support for company vessels when in home ports in the Tees Valley.
- Assist with operational requirements as needed.
Skills & Experience
- Must be flexible with the type of work undertaken, as the business is young and evolving.
- Must be able to commute to the Middlesbrough area daily.
- MUST have some previous experience in stores/parts management.
- Ideally, have some experience in hydraulic parts/hose management.
- Must be fully PC literate and capable of using Microsoft Office to a high standard.
- Strong people skills to liaise with vessel crew and suppliers.
- A positive, practical approach to work and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
Benefits
- Company mobile phone and van.
- Offshore/overnight allowance.
- Workplace pension scheme.
- Competitive salary (£28,000-£33,000 per year).
- Bereavement leave, sick pay, and subsidised travel.
